Pregnancy Nutrition

Nutrition during pregnancy is very important.  All the nutrients your baby receives is from you.  Whatever you eat, they eat, whatever you breathe in they breathe in. 

You must eat the recommended foods for a normal diet each day.  You do not have to eat for two, much to most people’s beliefs.  You can eat normal healthy, one-person servings.  Do not fool yourself.  The amount of extras that is necessary for a non-born baby is found one glass of milk.  So as long as you drink an extra glass of milk a day, you have reached the recommended extra amount of nutrients for your child, this of course as long as the rest of your diet has followed a healthy path.

Look at the food pyramid; these are the foods you need to be eating; in the recommended servings.  There are some things that your doctor will warn you about, and suggest that you raise within your eating.  You will also more than likely be prescribed a prenatal pill.  These are important to take.  A daily multivitamin for the average person, a prenatal is the multivitamin for the pregnant.  Discuss pregnancy nutrition with your doctor.  This is what they are there for; they possess a wealth of information.  Everything that you need to know about eating, what exercises you can do to lesson cramps, what foods might give you heartburn, side effects of different women, bloating, etc.  They are there to help you with everything.
